The Russians aren’t out of the game, and the US isn’t out of the game, so is the Cold War really over? Let’s say that the Russians and US are out of the game. China and North Korea have stepped in and are now playing. Other countries want to get into the game, and some terrorist countries want in. I know, you think terrorists don’t belong to a country, but they can. Terror supported by a country makes that country a terrorist country.
So, when did the Cold War end? It hasn’t. Just one round has been diminished. We have had all of our game pieces set back to the starting point, so we need to continue trying to get back on the board. I can agree that, maybe we don’t need as many nuclear weapons, but we can’t get rid of them all. If a nation has millions of illegal weapons floating around in the hands of criminals or could be criminals, then it isn’t time to take guns away from the police. Neither is it time to eliminate our nuclear arsenal as other nations that can’t be trusted, acquire them.
