Snow Sucks

There is only one way to say it…Snow Sucks.  It may be white when it’s falling, but turns to snirt (snow-dirt) as it is driven on and blown off of the sidewalks and driveways, with grass, dirt, rocks, and bits of misplaced newspaper sucked into and thrown out of the snowblower. 

People who don’t get snow very often think that it’s terrible to get a few inches on the roads because they become stranded.  Up here in North Dakota, you need to get used to blowing the snow in the morning, shoveling or blowing more when you get home from work, and then once more if the snowplow comes after you are finished.  This could happen multiple days in a row, or a few times a week.  We wouldn’t go to work if we didn’t drive in the stuff.  Because you don’t get paid, in most jobs if you don’t get there, you go out in blizzards and freezing rain storms to go to work.  At least most people in this area, start the season at a slower speed to prevent car accidents, but not all.  Texting, and children with big or carefree attitudes who are given a driver’s license at younger and younger ages are the cause of many accidents and deaths.  A 14-year-old can’t get a job, so why do they need a driver’s license except that their parents are too lazy to take them to school or to make them take the bus (or even walk in some cases).  I was lazy when I was a kid, but I couldn’t get a license until I was 16, and now we don’t have enough jobs to give them to all of the adults, let alone children.

To get back on the subject, Some areas have wet snow that disappears by mid afternoon.  Others may have wet or dry snow that stays most of the year and usually has ice, wind chills far below zero, a foot or more of the stuff on the roads to drive through on your way to work, and it may end up being so deep that you can’t blow it onto your yard anymore without having a truck move it to a more remote area.  We may also have it for three to six months or more with a flooding period afterwards so that we can actually get three months of nice weather a year.  One year, that I remember, with a few nice days in the spring and some in the summer, we ended up with about 30 nice days for the year, above 60 degrees F (which is normally cold unless the weather was below freezing the week before).  Did I forget to mention shoveling off the roof (which mostly applies to businesses, but I’ve done that on occasion, and may be at it again soon).

California thinks that they have it so bad with all of their problems, but they either create many of their own problems, or make their problems worse than they need to be without mother natures help.  Live here for a while and you will wish that you were back in the smog (as they can’t trust air that they can’t see–so I’ve been told).

Are the wandering poles the cause of the odd weather that everyone has been getting this year? or…With the U.S. and Russia working with weather warfare, how bad is our weather because of our own governments.  Is all of the strange weather caused by our own doing?  Is global warming or the coming ice age caused by these experiments? 

In conclusion, snow no longer keeps out the rift-raft because they can sell their drugs to those who are house-bound most of the year, so snow must be sent by Satan.  If you have any ideas to melt it more efficiently, let me know.
